Colourful promotional textiles at a trade fair stand

Event shirts, bags, caps and merchandise are often needed fast and in varying quantities. DTF and DTG reproduce logos and brand colours reliably – even for short-notice orders.

Typical applications

  • Event and trade fair shirts, staff and team clothing
  • Tote bags, caps and other promotional textiles
  • Merchandise for brands, clubs and campaigns
  • Short-notice reorders and small follow-up runs

Why DTF is often the first choice

Promotional textiles come in very different materials – cotton shirts, polyester sportswear, blended fabrics, bags, and jackets made of nylon or softshell. DTF prints the logo onto a transfer film, which is then pressed onto the item. That makes it easy to decorate different materials with the same design – with the right hot-melt adhesive also nylon and softshell – and transfers can be produced ahead and applied when the order comes in. DTG is the alternative for full-colour, soft-touch prints directly on cotton garments.

Suitable systems

  • RICOH XTF D430 – compact DTF with automatic roll feeding, inline cutting and a print width of up to 407 mm.
  • RICOH Pro™ D1600 – industrial DTF with integrated powder application and curing and more than 20 m² per hour, for large volumes.
  • RICOH Ri 1000X – DTG with CMYK + white for cotton and polyester garments, optionally DTF.

Good to know

  • Logos with fine lines and small text need clean, high-resolution artwork – vector files are ideal.
  • Check brand colours on the actual textile: the same colour can look different on cotton and on polyester.
  • For recurring campaigns it pays to document the settings for each textile.
